Following my Danielle shoot I had a client come by for a shoot. I had previously shot a guy's wife who had since gotten divorced and now I was shooting his new girlfriend. How the world turns :) She was a lot of fun to work with and I just got her proofs out in the mail to her.
On Monday the lovely Leigh came back to take some "amateur" pictures to get more variety. How weird to "dumb down" the pictures. On-camera flash, mostly landscapes, etc. I hope she got what she wanted but I hope she doesn't put my name on them :)
Today I received a mail from one of my most favorite models, Kimberly. Kimberly used to live here in the Twin Cities, then she moved to San Diego, and then on to Las Vegas. She came back for the holidays and contacted me for a shoot. Of all of the models I have shot that wanted to be in Playboy, Kimberly is the only one I ever submitted and they wanted her. She then she got cold feet, then wanted to, then backed out. I am hoping to get that final committment from her to get her in Playboy! I am so anxious to work with her again!!!
Arrived back from LA late on Monday the 17th and spent Tuesday unpacking and getting settled back in. On Wednesday the lovely Danielle stopped by for her first shoot with me. We did two Lollipop magazine shoots and had a great time. Danielle has been talking to her friends and is expecting to have some also come over and work with me. I also hope to have Danielle back again for another shoot!
During a break my assistant ran into an Indianapolis model, Cole Apple. She does a lot of fetish work and seemed like a great fit for my Lollipop shoots. We hooked up after Glamourcon on Saturday for our shoot. We thought it would be fun to do some risque shots around the hotel property. She got into the first Lollipop shirt and then we went into the hotel stairway. We did a combination shoot of pictures in the stairway and on the outside landing. Right behind her was the huge LAX sign at the entrance to the Los Angeles airport. I don't think the sign shows in the dark but it was there. Cole showed how versatile she was and what a hottie she is.
Following the stairway shoot we came back inside, cleaned up, changed makeup, and headed for one of the hotel fitness centers which happened to be on the floor I was staying on. One of the best fitness centers I have seen in a hotel. Cole went around the room posing on each of the different pieces of equipment. Since she is also a fitness buff, she was right at home on the various pieces of equipment. Twice during the shoot hotel staff stopped by and encouraged us to continue :) We also did a shoot in the connected sauna! Cole was so much fun to work with and I hope to shoot with her again. Following the shoot we went down to the outside hotel heated pool and hot tub for a late night swim and soak! A wonderful finish to the day!
The second day started out with another model that didn't confirm so the day was spent sightseeing as my assistant hadn't been to LA before. He also had some contacts to get in touch with so I played happy host and took him around town and of course we had another great Mexican meal.
That evening we hooked up with Playboy Playmate Sharry Konopski for a short shoot. It had been a long day for her and it was rather late at night so we only shot a few outfits but it was great to shoot the lovely Sharry. I also host and webmaster Sharry's site for her so it was nice to get together again!
Saturday and Sunday were the Glamourcon celebrity autograph and fan shows. As usual I was one of the official photographers for the event. There were many, many Playboy Playmates, Penthouse Pets, pornstars, and other models in attendance plus famous photographers like Suze Randall, her daughter Holly, and Chuck Stevens. Of course Hugh Hefner stopped by for his usual visit on Saturday which always causes mass mayhem. Since I have so many pix with him I didn't take the time to get in line to pose with him. I did shoot him with some Playmates that requested photos with him.
Following the show on Sunday I had shoots lined up with two models and a tentative third model. All three failed to show up. Each had their own excuses, however I didn't even hear the excuses until Monday....grrrrrr.... I could make a comment about models at this point but since there are many nice ones I won't sour this BLOG with sour grapes.
Leigh came over on the 11th and we had another great shoot! She is creating content for her new website which will be announced later. She is a cutie and a lot of fun to work with.
I spent the rest of the 11th and 12th packing and preparing for my trip to LA and I flew out on the evening of the 12th with my assistant, Doug. There is always so much to do in preparation for leaving for an extended period of time and with various shoots to do, places to go, things to do.
On the thirteenth we had two models scheduled and a third one was tentative. As with models in general, there are always issues. One model's daughter was sick and in another case the model's daughter's kids were sick and her daughter had to visit her husband in the hospital. Sure sounds like a lot of sick people. Either way, I had a great shoot with Playboy Playmate Charlotte Kemp. We met at her home where the wonderful makeup artist Ada was already working on her. Then we went to Vasquez rocks for a great outside shoot. Vasquez Rocks is a bizarre location where many of the Star Wars episodes are shot. The ones where they are supposedly on some foreign planet. We had a fun time avoiding hikers and the park ranger :)
Following the outside shoot we had dinner at a great Mexican restaurant in Agua Dulce and then we headed to a warehouse closer to LA. What a site to walk into a warehouse packed with luxury cars and trucks. We chose two to work with. The first one was Lenny Dykstra's 2003 BMW 745I. That car had more bells and whistles than a 747. After the BMW we did a shoot in a 1970 Mercedes convertible that is almost completely restored.
Will continue the LA trip in the next BLOG!

Following the last entry in my blog I had a string of no shows. On the 27th an amateur named Aimee was supposed to come over for her first shoot. No show, no call. Then Maddie and Krysta were supposed to come over on the 28th. Both had excuses and neither has rescheduled. On 11/4 a model/photographer was supposed to come over but said she changed her work schedule from nights to days and she has rescheduled for later. On the 5th Natasha was supposed to come over but had some conflicts but did schedule for Sunday and did show up.
Then I was supposed to shoot on the 7th and 8th with a new model, Leigh, but for some reason I can't remember she didn't make it on the 7th but did show up for a great shoot on the 8th and is coming back today for another shoot. I expect to be working with Leigh on an ongoing basis
On Sunday, as mentoned, Natasha came back. I haven't shot Natasha for just over a year and it was nice having her back again. Like Leigh, I am working on a site with Natasha so I will also be doing a lot of shoots with her.
Wednesday I leave for LA to attend Glamourcon for which I am one of the offical photographers. I am going early to do some Playboy Playmate shoots and other models. One shoot is supposed to be in a warehouse full of luxury cars. Can't wait to shoot the Playmate I haven't shot before plus the great setting. We are also going to shoot at a place called Vasquez Rocks, a gorgeous natural setting.
More news later after my shoot with Leigh here and then all the shoots in LA.
