Two of my favorite models made it back this past week for more shoots. I have been working with Leigh for awhile by helping provide content for her website for which I also do the hosting. We did a casualwear shoot amongst the blooming lilacs and then we went to the beach for some bikini shots.
Next I shot Ayanna. This was my second shoot with Ayanna. She is a 21-yo Japanese girl who dances at the Choice. She is starting a modeling career and picked me to work with. She is a delight to work with and is a natural and striking hot poses.
Both are due back in a week so I am looking forward to more shoots with them!

My assistant, Doug James, and I had VIP access to the Playboy 50th Anniversary Club tour on May 18th which was held at the Escape Ultra Lounge in Minneapolis. Of the ten Playmates in attendance I have worked with five of them before at other events. Was nice seeing them and the other five I hadn't met before. Pictures from the event have been posted on the Twin Cities Night Club site.
It was a great event with a lot of nice people including some of my models and others!

I have been talking to models from LA, to Vegas, to Florida, to DC, New York, and Boston.
Seems everyone is taking finals, moving, figuring out their schedules, getting boob jobs and every other reason to delay you can imagine. I have many models in the queue to shoot with and will talk more about it when they actually show up
I have also come down with a cold and might actually have to postpone a shoot scheduled for tomorrow.
I am always getting more things to work with and mamy of my props haven't been used. Today I picked up some straw bales which should be fun for a country look. Still waiting to use the parking meters I installed, the windmill, and my pink flamingo
Lots of new things for a variety of looks!
For those going fishing this weekend, don't drink too much and remember to catch and release

Out of the blue I was contacted by the German magazine FOCUS a couple weeks ago. FOCUS is described as being the German equivalent of Time and Newseek. They were doing an article on the Christain nightclub 3 Degrees. They wanted some pix of people dancing at the club and contacted me due to my nightclub photography work. As it turned out the Korean train crash pre-empted the article on the club so they didn't need pictures afterall.
I didn't have on hand the pictures they needed but went to the club and shot some pix in case they were able to extend their deadline. I met the Pastor and Director for Three Degrees, Steve Aleksuk. He was very gracious, telling the staff to give me whatever I wanted while there. I heard they had some great food but was on too tight of a schedule to take advantage of their menu. The club is very nice and well laid out and full-featured.
It happens that there was a nice group playing while I was at the club. The Minneapolis-based group is known as the Sara Renner Band and is composed of nationally known musicians and singers. They are known for a blend of jazz, soul, and gospel styles. Check out their site for more information on the goup:

Some of you may or may not know that one of my side businesses is web hosting. I was honored recently that my mentor, Stan Malinowski, has begun moving some of his domains to my server. Stan has been my friend and mentor almost since I started in the glamour business. My first glamour shoots were in 1996 and I met and started working with Stan in January of 1998. Stan was one of the few if in fact maybe the only photographer to make his mark in fashion and glamour. Stan did a lot of work for both Playboy and Penthouse and then he was discovered by Vogue and went on to shoot for Vogue, Elle, Bazaar and other fashion magazines. Both domestic as well as their foreign editions.
Stan's sites aren't all re-established yet but here are the sites you can check:
Stan Malinowski - The "old" version of Model Pix
Stan is also diving into the publishing business again, launching a new magazine called "VU". I have been watching Stan develop this magazine over time and can tell you that it will be phenomenal. He has gathered pictures from some of the top photographers around so you can expect something amazing. Stan is a pro with editing so the magazine will not just be his inspiration, but his own design and layout as well. To get a pre-publication glimpse of his magazine site, check it out here:

Stan, Thanks again for using Link Up Hosting for your hosting source:

Since the last posting I did one more regular Tropix contest, then the semifinals, and then the finals last week. Was nice seeing the various winners again as I have gotten to know them pretty well over the weeks I have been shooting the contest.
My assistant, Doug, and I were sitting at the bar and were talking to one of the contestants and we mutually agreed she should be the winner and we also talked to some others and thought they deserved to be runnerups. As it turned out we picked the winner and two out of the three runner-ups. Was nice that the judges agreed with us. The grand winner was Nicole who is a student at Stout. I have since then been in contact with her and she said she would be back for the Venus Swimwear competition also held at the Tropix nightclub.
Congratulations to all the winners, semifinalists, and finalists.
